WHAT HAPPENS DURING YOUR EVALUATION?
You will be assessed by a Doctor of Medicine (Nasha Holt, MD) and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (Jeff Turner, DPT). For your convenience, these two appointments are scheduled back-to-back. Dr. Holt and Dr. Turner then discuss your case to decide if you’re a candidate for our program.
 Dr. Nasha Holt is a family physician who has specialized in headache care since 2006. She has several roles in our cervical rehabilitation program:
1. She rules out the nasty causes of headaches (i.e., tumor, meningitis, malignant hypertension).
2. She provides pain medication management between the time a patient enters our program and the time we are able to taper a patient’s pain medications as they gain control over their head and face symptoms. This also involves the time-consuming work it takes to get patients off of the daily medications that contribute to rebound headaches.
3. She refers patients to our specialty colleagues in Neurology and Pain Management as patient needs require (e.g., cervical ESI’s, EMG studies, second opinions for refractory pain problems).

 Dr. Jeff Turner is a physical therapist who uses a detailed evaluation of your symptoms, attempting to produce them, then take them away in a predictable manner. You’ll very likely discover the true source of your symptoms during this evaluative process. He routinely accomplishes this through very meticulous, painless neck positioning (NOT manipulation). Once he’s done, you’ll typically know exactly what to do to start systematically abolishing your problem.
